Discoveries

One of the best parts of being a parent is being with your child when they make an exciting discovery.  Our most recent example was the ice cream truck.  There was no time for me to take a video or even snap a photo, but I will forever remember watching Lily snatch those two dollars out of Mike's hand and sprint down the sidewalk, grinning from ear to ear.  We had read once about an ice cream truck in a book with her, but she had never seen one.  When that truck drove by with its music blaring, there was pure excitement in our house, for Lily and her parents.
Other discoveries aren't quite as exciting.  Yesterday we realized Sam is very allergic to, well, something.  We think it is eggs, but who knows for sure.  Whatever it is, my baby was miserable.  At one point his eyes were nearly swollen shut.  A few doses of benedryl and 24 hours later he is almost back to normal.

What a trooper -- still flashing smiles.

Other recent discoveries include:

1. Sam loves to crawl around at the park.

But is still more interested in taste-testing the woodchips and leaves.
 2.  Lily looks adorable in a pink tiara cowboy hat with flashing lights.  She and Mike took in the Hawley rodeo for the first time.
3.  And Sam likes to "chill" in the living room with his "ba-ba".
