Well, there are a few of you who I have been trying to get a hold of to share this news in person, but this will have to do for now. . .
We are expecting! September 8th is the due date.
Lily is extremely excited (as are we!). She has a few names in mind: Peppa Pig, Sweetheart Princess, or George. The other day, when I picked her up from daycare, I had Ollie (our Shih Tzu) in the car. I told her on the way to the car that someone was waiting for her. "Who is it, Mom?"
"Well, he's small, and white, and furry."
Her eyes beamed and she stopped in her tracks. "Is the baby here?!"
Hmmm, if only it were that easy.
And one more funny story from our "sponge". A few weeks ago, when Mike was picking Lily up from daycare, one of her teachers pulled him aside saying that she had "the best" story for us. She said they had been talking about juice at breakfast, and Lily commented that she had lots of juice at her house. "We have grape juice, apple juice, orange juice, and we even have the Jesus' blood kind that only Moms and Dads drink. We have lots of that kind."
(No, I have not had a drink in the last few months, which goes to show how long a thought can stew in a pre-schooler's mind before springing forth at an "opportune" moment!)
